Private Equity 2007 - The Flight to Quality
Jesse E. Reyes, Bear Sterns
Mr. Reyes is currently with Bear Stearns Asset Management Inc. and is the Founder of Reyes Analytics. He was formerly the Vice President and Director of Global Research for Thomson Venture Economics. Mr. Reyes joined Venture Economics in 1989 as research manager and later became product manager of Venture Economics' Investor Services performance and portfolio analytics products. Promoted to director in 1993, he was the chief architect of the Venture Economics Investment Benchmark Reports on private equity performance and was the editor of every edition since their inception in 1990. In addition, Mr. Reyes was the primary visionary and product manager of the Venture Economics VentureXpert web product which is the most comprehensive source of private equity data available. His background includes an M.B.A. in finance and statistics from Texas Tech University as well as graduate studies in the department of economics at Harvard University.

Bryan Pearce, Ernst & Young
Bryan Pearce is Ernst & Young’s New England Strategic Growth Markets Leader, based in Boston MA. In this role, Bryan is responsible for the firms go to market involvement with rapidly growing venture backed through Russell 3000 companies. In addition, Bryan is responsible for the New England Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Program and leads the firm’s New England Venture Capital Advisory Group ("VCAG"). VCAG focuses on development and delivery of value added services to the venture capital industry, including core audit and tax services as well as deal flow, knowledge and thought leadership, and access to our alumni and extended enterprise networks and perspective on current venture capital fundraising trends. In addition, Bryan spends a substantial portion of his time with Strategic Growth companies providing counsel in the areas of fundraising, business models, preparing for a liquidity event, etc. He also is a member of the Global Steering Committee for this important component of the Global E&Y strategy.
