Abstract

Under the supervision of Joseph W. Bartlett, Adjunct Professor of law and New York University Law School, Senior Economic Fellow at the NYU Center for Law and Business, and the author of Equity Finance: Venture Capital, Buyouts, Restructurings and Reorganizations, a research program is underway to investigate areas of interest in emerging growth finance ranging from such subjects as the prices (expressed in terms of company valuation) finance professionals are willing to pay for deal terms in early stage finance, to the track records of post-closing experience of companies attempting a back door initial public offering through the merger of a public shell, to the impact of negotiated terms in the organization of pooled investment vehicles (hurdle rate, ?just in time? takedowns) on the outcomes of investors in venture capital and buyout funds. Professor Bartlett is currently assisted in these inquiries by Charu Rajeha, a doctoral candidate at the New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business, Finance Department.
